Role Overview Under the supervision of the Senior Communications Manager, you will support MCE's communication and branding strategies to effectively tell our story to diverse audiences. Your responsibilities include public relations, content development, media relations, and managing communication strategies across various platforms. Key Responsibilities Manage public relations efforts, including press releases, media pitches, approvals, and talking points. Coordinate responses to media inquiries with subject matter experts and department heads. Build and maintain relationships with media and communication professionals. Develop and maintain digital media kits and website content. Identify opportunities for awards and prepare submissions. Coordinate internal communications, FAQs, announcements, and new initiatives. Support messaging for public information requests. Manage agency messaging content and talking points repository. Identify and coordinate sponsorships and speaking opportunities. Provide media training and support for staff. Collaborate with marketing on presentations and collateral. Lead special campaigns and projects. Create blog posts and web content. Qualifications Required Skills High-quality writing, research, and communication skills. Project management experience. Media relationship management. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience working with diverse communities. California residency preferred, especially near San Rafael and Concord. Experience & Education Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or related fields. Minimum of 5 years in public relations, business communications, or related fields. Certifications are a plus. Knowledge & Abilities Media and business communication best practices. Project management best practices. Social media content management. Skills Thoroughness and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to simplify complex energy topics. Relationship-building with media and stakeholders. Language & Reasoning Skills Strong task prioritization and problem-solving skills. Efficient project and time management. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience, with benefits including health insurance, parental leave, dependent care subsidies, student loan repayment, and wellness programs. Starting Salary Range: $128,258 - $167,804.
