You work well with a team and can operate independently. You enjoy working under tight deadlines. The Position You are responsible for executing communications functions throughout the organization. You will be the day-to-day manager of our email, social, and website work, including initiating and/or proofing content. You will learn to master our CRM system to ensure our data is accurate and to support our ability to make the best use of the data we have. This position is located in Washington, DC. Qualifications Clear and concise writing skills, including copy editing for grammar and other easy-to-miss errors. A graphic designer’s eye, able to imagine and guide the production of visual products Ability to master new CRM systems. Experience with social media. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills. Up to three years of relevant experience. No prior experience is required. Duties & Responsibilities Working under the supervision of the Vice President of Communications, and in close coordination with the entire NJN team, the Strategic Communications Associate will have responsibility for the following: Email Program: Produce email content, including proofing, coding, and targeting email blasts. Troubleshoot problems. Maintain metrics. Web and social media: Post items on a regular basis. Monitor engagement on social channels. Create landing and confirmation pages for fundraising, advocacy, and events. Maintain and evaluate metrics. CRM: Data entry. Quarterly data hygiene efforts, including deduping records. Troubleshooting problems. Earned Media: Track coverage. Identify reporters to reach out to in rapid response moments. Maintain our press list. Webinars: Manage the “backstage” aspects of our webinars, including registration, other Zoom functions, and the post-production work of editing and posting the video files. Development: work with Director of Development on donor events, invitations, response forms, donor data reports, and fundraising appeals. Other duties as assigned.
