The Systems Designer will support engineers with drawing layouts by utilizing computer-aided drafting software. This role will also be responsible for creating new and modified components and Bill of Materials (BOM) in accordance to the Oshkosh standards. Must have Siemens NX, sheet metal, weldments, and some electrical design experience to be considered. Hydraulic Experience is heavily preferred. Duties include performing high quality design work through CAD systems to create 3D and 2D layouts of parts, large assemblies and sub-weldments; working cross functionally and with suppliers to obtain technical data; negotiating vehicle space allocation with interdepartmental design teams; proficiently creating prints following CAD standards and industry best practices; updating current drawings from engineering and markup drawings for lower level designers; properly using and understanding GD&T practices with minimal guidance from engineers; creating conceptual layouts of new designs for specific assemblies of new or current products; selecting parts and/or designing components for compliant and cost/quality conscious design; supporting calculations (weight, tolerancing) in support of the overall vehicle design; preparing and creating high complexity Change Notice (CN) documents based on BOM and design layouts for appropriate data entry; assisting peers with CNs; utilizing ERP systems to create part numbers following the proper naming process and data entry requirements; creating and revising high complexity BOM following department procedures; providing technical assistance for build issues, prototype, pilot, and production support to engineering teams; collecting, documenting, and organizing build issues for assigned areas of design. Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree with two years of experience in design, Siemens NX experience, sheet metal design experience, and electrical design experience. Preferred qualifications include experience and/or training in GD&T, experience developing design concepts, and demonstrated ability to mentor an individual design team member.
