Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain constant vigilance and supervision of Guests in the Hurricane Harbor Waterpark.
• Recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies by utilizing skills taught by Ellis & Associates ILTP.
• Maintain a “Test-Ready” skill level at all times after certification.
• Adhere to all policies, practices, and procedures outlined in the Ellis & Associates ILTP program.
• Assist in other areas of the Aquatics Department.
• Must attend 4 hours of In-Service training each month.
• Enforce all Six Flags’ Policies and communicate safety policies to Guests.
• Maintain a regular, prompt attendance, and a clean work environment.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum Age: 15
• Must be at least 16 years of age to obtain Special Facilities License. May take the Lifeguard Class while 15 years of age if becoming 16 years of age during this Hurricane Harbor summer season and then finish the licensing requirements once 16 years of age.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to successfully pass all applicable lifeguard training and licensing through Jeff Ellis & Associates, including practical and written tests, demonstrating abilities in water rescue techniques, basic first aid and CPR.
• Must remain calm in stressful and emergency situations.
• Must be able to exit from a pool/attraction at any point without the use of ladders, steps, or a zero depth exit.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be professional, self-motivated, the ability to multi-task and have an enthusiastic attitude
• Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with others.
